Description
Giving calves very good quality colostrum immediately after birth is important for shaping their immunity.
This device with a simple structure is used to measure the level of immunoglobulins that determine health value. Low-density colostrum contains a small amount of Ig (1.035) - red and is rated as bad, and high values indicate a large amount of immunoglobulins (1.045) - dark green.
Measuring colostrum quality is simple. During the first hour after calving, fill the container with colostrum to cool (room temperature), and then immerse the colostrometer in it so that it floats on the surface of the fluid without contact with the walls.
The colostrometer should be cleaned after each use.
