Traditional medieval recipes for caraway cheeses are still in use today – the best-known being the Dutch Leyden cheese (Leidse kaas). Caraway gives cheeses a distinctive, spicy flavor that perfectly enhances their character.

Other uses:
Beyond cheese, caraway is widely used in soups such as cabbage soup, mushroom soup, pea soup, and potato soup, as well as in meat dishes and bread.
