Red wax is made of refined light and residual slack wax and beeswax, colored with appropriate additives.
Red wax is used in the dairy industry to coat rennet-ripening cheeses. It protects the cheese against drying out, contamination and microbes. Moreover, it makes a very nice visual effect.

Wax is an integral part of cheese, so it pays off to coat cheeses with wax (especially those intended for sale), as their weight - and thus - the price - increases.


Red wax contains appropriate dyes that give it a red color. They are 100% safe, the product is a specialist product intended for the dairy industry. In the photo - second from the left.

Waxes have good adhesion and flexibility, which ensures good adhesion to the cheese surface. These waxes meet many requirements and standards that allow these products to come into contact with food.

The production of cheese waxes is carried out in accordance with the applicable GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) Code with elements of Good Hygienic Practice. The manufacturing process takes place in a dedicated area, and all deliveries of raw materials, additives and packaging used in the process are covered by a special system of acceptance and release control. One of the GMP requirements is also control tests on the purity and content of substances in finished products.

Tests for cheese waxes are carried out in specialized research units and mainly concern the determination of PAH content (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, benzo (a) pyrene, compliance with FDA 172.886 and the content of heavy metals. The test results provide the basis for determining compliance with Regulation (EC) 1935/2004. on materials and articles intended to come into contact with food.

Each production batch of cheese waxes undergoes standard tests of physicochemical parameters, in accordance with the applicable Technical Conditions.

Appropriate food dyes are used for the production of waxes. These dyes must be on the list of dyes approved for use in foodstuffs, in accordance with the requirements of Directive 94/36 / EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 30 June 1994 on dyes for use in foodstuffs (as amended).

The waxes we offer meet the requirements and can be safely used as the crust of rennet and ripening cheeses.
